The Greatest Book Ever

I've just finished the book Brave Story by Miyuki Miyabe. I now love this book. It should be a kid's book but the main story is a lot more mature, including affairs, divorce, murder, and suicide. So the synopsis is basically this: A kid, about 10 years old, named Wataru finds the gate to a magic world, named Vision, where he has a adventure to change his destiny. Kid's stuff, right? Not exactly. The adventure has him trying to find the gemstones allowing him to reach the Goddess to change his destiny. Along the way he finds that the world is divided into to continents that have been at war over religion, and race. It's a great book that I might actually buy a copy of, instead of just a borrowed version from the library.

  2. Yeah, it's kind of new. Also it's translated from Japanese.

  3. If you made anyone read that as a child, they would have deep psychological problems.
